Smoky topaz is a variety of quartz. Used in China for the first dark lenses, sacred to Druids, today, national stone of Scotland. But this ring is not history. It is emotional structure. Octagonal, solid, tall.

Leonardo da Vinci said the octagon is the perfect transitional figure: between the square (EARTHLY) the rational, the material, and the circle (CELESTIAL) the spiritual, the eternal. The octagon is the midpoint. A bridge between body and soul.

There, between the material and the eternal, is where I am strongest.
