Putto an italian word that means either toddler winged angel. The Italian word comes from the Latin word putus, meaning "boy" or "child". 

Putti, in the ancient classical world were winged children who were believed to influence human lives. In Renaissance art, the shape of the putto could be derived in a number of ways, including the Eros of the Greeks, or the Cupid of the Romans, the god of love and companion of Aphrodite or Venus.
