Silver ring with black obsidian.

In pre-Columbian Mexico, obsidian mirrors represented wisdom, knowledge, and power. They were also used to know the destiny of men: they were a symbol of the power that the god Tezcatlipoca had granted to kings.
Obsidian does not only reflect the exterior. It was believed to show what is inside: the soul, destiny, secrets. For this reason, it was used in rituals, oracles, and visions.
It was an object to see without eyes.
The most famous ancient mirror is the one found in the British Museum, which arrived in Europe between 1527 and 1530. This mirror belonged to Philip II, who is said to have received it as a gift from Mexico due to his interest in the occult sciences
