Replica of a Maximilian from 1866. It was the first 1 peso coin in Mexico. The government was headed by Ferdinand Maximilian of Habsburg, proposed as monarch by Napoleon III. He ordered the minting of coins under the decimal system, the first “one peso” coin in Mexico.
